Doggles For A Working Dog

Nope, you aren’t seeing things. And, yes, these are for real.

These puppies help protect the eyes of military dogs. Especially those deployed along side troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. These pooches are high powered, highly trained specialists and would cost a pretty penny to replace if injured.

Why Some Exercise Without Weights.

Bruce Lee had said that his evolutionary approach to martial arts is “an expression of the human body”. This is true about any form of physical activity.
In some circles, the idea of exercising or strength training without weights is considered to be the younger and inexperienced sibling of the more mature typical gym strength and fitness routines. This may be because of the fitness industry boom of the 80′s and 90′s where tons of people flocked to the national fitness chains to see and to be seen. However, long before Arnold and Franco made a name for themselves, and the fitness club aerobics classes were standing room only (is that a pun?), the benefits of bodyweight workouts and strength training without weights was widely known and used.
Working out without weights in many cases has been preferred by those that were and are interested in, not maximizing the weights on a bench press bench but, learning to master and control their physical bodies in the most natural way possible. Some would say that it’s more of a spiritual connection.

Cyclists, Test Your Own Endurance And Exercise Intensity

I was reading today and ran across this little item from SyFy news. It seems a some researchers are interested in making their testing a little more convenient to the athlete and a little more cost effective too. They have figured out a way that cyclists can test their own exercise intensity while working on their trainer at home.

A scientist at University of New Hampshire (UNH) has transformed a three-minute all-out cycling test to a fitness tool that is as effective as more lab-intensive measurements for determining exercise intensity.

Bruce LeeRoy Steals Spotlight From Bad Boy Koscheck

Anyone watching the run up to this new season of The Ultimate Fighter has had to hear Josh Koscheck talk about making waves ( and a name for himself ) as “the guy people love to hate”. While he may have succeeded in this area, I don’t think it has anything to do with his intent. I just don’t think that people like a loud mouthed arrogant bast$@*!. Know what I mean?

One of Koscheck’s most recent displays of imbecility came after he fought Paul Daley when he needlessly insulted the majority of fans who came out to support Dana White’s cash cow in Montreal. He really doesn’t have to try to be the bad boy. It’s just who he is.
