The Pull Up and Chin Up are essential bodyweight exercises. They both fall into the category of what are called compound exercises. This simply means that they target and strengthen multiple joints and muscles.
They also fall into the category of what are called “Functional Exercises”. Exercises that are functional tend to be more realistic in nature and require the body to work together and move in a more natural and coordinated way.
